It's turning out to be a long cold winter. We've experienced a destructive ice storm, deep freezes, and lots of snow. I try to get the kids outside as much as possible and we even built a snow slide in our own front yard. That way the kids can go out and have some fun but can quickly come in if they are getting too cold. Needless to say, they've been indoors quite a bit this winter, and they are getting a bit bored.

My sister and I loved stickers when we were kids. We both had photo albums that we filled with stickers that we had collected and traded with friends. My daughter's both have that same love for stickers. Whenever we hit the dollar store my 5 year old asks if we could buy some more.

I love the sticker books that we received from DK Canada to review. What's really neat about these stickers is that they are reusable!

The first sticker book we chose was LEGO Friends Ultimate Sticker Collection with more than 1,000 full colour reusable stickers. We already have LEGO Brickmaster Friends from DK Canada and this sticker book is the perfect accompaniment. Learn all about the Friends, their animal friends, and all the places they love to hang out. Each page contains blank outlines where you can place the stickers. Just read the captions and find the sticker that best fits the space. There are also different blank scenes and lots of extra stickers where the kids can use their imagination and create their own fun scenes. And because the stickers are reusable, this will certainly keep the kids busy for hours and hours! Great idea for indoor fun when it's too cold to play outside or for long car trips. If you are planning a trip for march break or a summer vacation, grabbing a few sticker books is probably a great idea. Pack them with your bag of colouring books and other activities you plan to take along to keep the kids happy.

The second sticker book we chose was Ultimate Sticker Book: Horse. My girls are obsessed with horses these days. This past summer we started watching a Canadian TV show about a family who lives on a ranch. Now we are watching horse movies and reading books about horses. So this sticker book is perfect. It contains more than 60 stickers and includes brief description for each horse. Like our other sticker book, the pages include blank outlines beside the description of the horse. Read the caption, then using the labels beside each sticker, choose the image that best fits the space available. I love how this book takes the girls love of stickers and horses and turns it into an opportunity to educate. As they work on this sticker book I plan on taking the horses that most interest them and turn it into a school project. Maybe a poster or a lapbook would be fun.

Do your kids love stickers as much as mine do? There are lots of cool sticker books to choose from including Angry Birds, Star Wars, and Disney! Check them out now before Buy 2, Get 1 FREE deal ends!

  1. This is such a good idea. When my kids were small they loved sticker books, and I'm thinking my youngest might enjoy some of these.
