How to back up your Blogger posts and comments

Don't forget to back it up!

Worried that one day your Blogger blog may just disappear?
One of the reasons many switch from Blogger is the fear that their blog could disappear overnight because we don't really own our blogs on Blogger. In reality we could lose it all at any moment. With all the work we put into our blogs that is a scary thought.

I love Blogger. I know it, I'm comfortable with it, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it right?
One day I may switch over to WordPress but right now I'm a happy camper. But just in case, I backed up my blog today. So if anything were to happen I can easily restore it. I even read somewhere that you can restore it to WordPress.

Please note that this only restores your posts and comments.
You'll need to save your Template separately.

Back up your Blogger posts and comments

1. From your blog click on the Design tab on the top right
2. Click on Settings and then Other
3. Under Blog Tools click Export blog
4. Click Download Blog and save the file to your computer
Your blog (posts and comments only) will be stored as a Blogger export file (.xml)
I also saved a copy of the file to my Dropbox just in case.

Hope this little bit of info helps you out.
Happy blogging!
